About This Experience
Giuseppe has fished the waters off Cetara since he was 14. His father fished here, his grandfather fished here. Cetara is the anchovy capital of the Mediterranean — the colatura di alici (anchovy extract) that chefs fight over comes from this tiny village.
You'll meet Giuseppe at the harbor before dawn and head out on his 8-meter fishing boat. He'll show you the traditional techniques — longline, trammel net, and handline — and you'll fish alongside him.
Whatever you catch, you cook. Giuseppe sets up a small grill on the boat and prepares the fish the way fishermen have done for centuries: olive oil, lemon, salt. The freshest meal you'll ever eat.
Back in harbor by 10am. You keep whatever fish you don't eat.
