Marina di Praia

Marina di Praia is a tiny fjord beach wedged between two enormous vertical cliffs, creating a natural amphitheater that feels almost prehistoric. The beach is small — maybe fifty meters of pebbles — but the setting is extraordinary. Turquoise water fills the narrow cove, fishing boats are pulled up on the stones, and the cliffs tower above covered in wild vegetation. A couple of restaurants serve excellent seafood. The Africana Famous Club, a legendary nightclub carved into a sea cave, opens its doors here in summer. The cliffs steal the sun around 15:00, so come early and bring a layer for the shade.

Road access from SS163 (signed turnoff). Small parking lot (fills fast). SITA bus stop on main road above.

Have lunch at Da Armandino and order totani e patate alla praianese — the local squid and potato stew you will not find anywhere else. Come back after midnight for the Africana club experience in the sea cave.
